The Certificate and Diploma programs are designed to provide teachers of children with special needs in school settings with the knowledge, skills, and theoretical foundation they require to be as effective as possible. Typically, teachers who receive the TRU Certificate or Diploma in Special Education will teach in special education settings such as resource rooms (e.g., teaching a classroom of children severe behaviour problems) or learning assistance settings (e.g., working with small groups of children with difficulties in Reading or Mathematics.
